Partner profile: Rongopai House

We are thrilled to announce a partnership with Rongopai House in Kaitaia. This is a partnership with many connections, a common heritage through Te Hāhi Mihingare and The Anglican Church, and a shared vision of strengthening whānau so that tamariki can thrive.

Over the years, we’ve also shared kaimahi, with several Te Whare staff having previously worked at Rongopai House.

Rongopai House Community Trust was established in 2011 by St Saviour’s Anglican Church, a historic church in Kaitaia and the site of one of the Treaty signings. In response to a great need in the community, what began as Feed My Lambs – offering kai, care and connection to local māmā and their pēpi – has grown into a trusted place of healing and practical support for whānau across Te Hiku.

Today, Rongopai House offers a safe and supportive space for local māmā (mothers) to build the skills and confidence to care for themselves, their pēpi and their whānau. Māmā are supported with aroha, warmth and practical skills, including fun and learning for tamariki, alongside life skills and parenting skills.

This powerful partnership is going from strength to strength, with a reciprocal referral process in place, as well as shared resources and learnings as we work to build capacity at Rongopai House and support more māmā and pēpi to thrive.
